Our plant and environment are very important to me. Issues concerning the environment have been talked about for the last several decades starting with Chlorofluorocarbons and the ozone layer.
We’ve come a long way since then in terms of the environment. Now the focus has turned to other things such as reclaiming things we may have once thrown away, or, say, to the homes we live in.
When the developer I represent decided to make all of his future projects Green, it became clear to me that living Green doesn’t take a radical new way of thinking. It just takes a few minor changes. Here are a few of the things that I have incorporated into my business to make me the Greenest agent in town.
1. I am probably one of the very few realtors in Chicago that does not own a car. When I need to get somewhere I use:
a. My legs
b. The CTA
c. The IGO car-sharing program. When I do need to drive a car, 90% of the time it is one of the hybrids that IGO has to offer.

3. Almost all of my work is done electronically – and the few pieces of paper that I use is recycled stock. Any waste is shredded and recycled.
4. 90% of my personal marketing is done on the web. I stay in contact with my past and future clients via email and updates to my website. I do not send out wasteful items such as magnets and labels that will ultimately end up contributing to landfills.
5. I will complete my Eco Agent certification in 2009.
When I purchased my first home I had a Koenig & Strey agent by my side who coordinated everything for me. This is why when I decided to begin my career in Real Estate nearly two years ago I chose Koenig & Strey. They stress customer satisfaction and having been one of their customers, it shows.
Previsouly, I was an administrator at Kirkegaard Associates, a world class architectural acoustics firm, where my two loves came together: the theater and architecture.
